Inteview with MET Opera star, Patricia Racette

Racette in Washington Opera's "Iphigenie en Tauride"

On August 18, 2012, Opera at the Beach and the Prudential Gallo-Touch of Italy Foundation presents An Evening with Patricia Racette.  An evening of arias, jazz and broadway favorites.

Our listeners heard her singing lead roles this past season at the MET Opera in Poulenc's "Dialogues des Carmelites" and Verdi's "Il Trovatore." She also performed last year with Placido Domingo in a striking production of "Iphigenie en Tauride."

I was lucky to catch up with her by phone on a stopover before she flew to Vienna, to have a frank, sassy conversation about life in the arts and the life of an acting singer.   To hear the interview in full,  and what she is excited about working on now, just click on the link on our "Classical Chat" listing.
