News and information about WSCL's Classical Music Programming

Tuesday, May 31, 2011

Hi friends!

This past Sunday (Memorial Sunday), I was interviewed by Ko Im on WBOC's Sunday morning news. Throughout the hour, I played short snippets of different harp music as we transitioned into commercial breaks, sang a few lines, and after our interview, Ko picked up her violin and joined me on Erik Satie's "Gymnopedie No.1."

Ko was too much of a pro to mention it, but I need to give her her due; seconds before the top of the show she popped a D string (not her G string!), and was playing avoiding anything on the D. Playing around a broken string is like playing with a finger missing... but she forged ahead with aplomb!

Here's a clip of the interview and our playing:

I also want to add how friendly Ko Im and John Trout were, they made it easy!
